Businesses have the power and profile to make a meaningful difference to charitable causes, and this is exactly what Foxton Construction has set out to achieve through its new partnership with The Atlas Foundation.
Founded in 2014 by rugby legend Jason Leonard OBE, The Atlas Foundation is a global charity with a vision to use rugby to support children living in poverty and facing adversity by promoting health, education, and inclusion. In the 12 years since its inception, the charity has delivered programmes across 21 countries, positively impacting nearly 280,000 children. Working closely with local partners, Atlas has made a significant difference, supporting young people to complete their education, with nearly 5,000 children re-enrolled in school in 2025 alone. The foundation also provides clean water, nutritious food, and access to essential items such as female hygiene products.
As specialists in the sport and leisure sector and avid sports fans, Foxton Construction understands the role sport can play in fostering teamwork, resilience, and empowerment, while building a sense of community, belonging, and confidence. When deciding on a charitable cause to support, The Atlas Foundation was a natural fit.

A regular attendee and supporter of Jason Leonard’s annual dinner, Foxton has seen first-hand the vital work Atlas undertakes to provide education, food, and inclusive experiences for children living in extreme poverty, both in the UK and worldwide.
Inspired by the exceptional work they do, Foxton has committed to supporting the foundation, raising funds through annual events and utilising its strong network and connections within the sport and leisure sector to help raise the profile of The Atlas Foundation and its work.
Through these efforts, the company hopes to support further development programmes that enable even more children to access education, nutrition, and inclusive opportunities. Providing these opportunities helps to empower young people to thrive and reach their full potential.
Jason Leonard OBE and Peter Scott of The Atlas Foundation recently met with Foxton partners Brett Kanjurs and Phil Balman to mark the beginning of the partnership.
When asked, Phil Balman, Partner at Foxton Construction, commented:
“Foxton Construction is proud to be supporting the Atlas Foundation as a corporate sponsor. The work they do, utilising rugby’s core values to improve the lives of children, is both inspiring and impactful.

As passionate supporters of the sport, we understand the role rugby can play in building inclusion, confidence, and opportunity. Through our network and fundraising efforts, we are committed to raising awareness and vital funds so that the Atlas Foundation can continue delivering sustainable development programmes and reach even more children living in extreme poverty.”
Founder and Chairman of the foundation, Jason Leonard OBE, said:
“We at The Atlas Foundation are incredibly grateful to Foxton Construction for their generous support. Their commitment to building stronger communities goes far beyond bricks and mortar; it helps create brighter futures for the children we help, giving them the chance to thrive.”
This partnership marks an exciting step forward, bringing together shared values and a shared ambition to create lasting, positive change for children around the world.
